The Eco-Council have also been busy recently getting in touch with a local Parish Councillor, Andrea Wood. Mrs Wood is part of the Cheriton Bishop Climate Crisis Initiative group and they have set a target for CB to be carbon neutral by 2030.
As a means of working towards this we have come up with a scheme to encourage children to walk to school as much as possible. The children will have been given a journey planner sheet which can be filled in this half term to record when they have walked or cycled to school. This can be achieved by parking in the village and walking down Church Lane if people live too far away to do it from home.
If a child manages 15 walk-ins or cycle-ins this half term they will receive a reflector key-ring to reward their efforts and help them be seen during these darker months.
Let's see how many can achieve this goal!
